About this Project
Background
The Myanmar Blue Carbon project aims to replant 500 hectares of degraded mangroves and adopting a community-based model. The approach includes educating and employing locals, supporting schools and families, promoting gender equality, and ensuring continuous maintenance and protection of the mangroves. This will enhance biodiversity, provide new income sources, and increase resilience against extreme weather for the 55,000 residents in the project area.
