Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy Limited (“CIPFA”) is a professional body and consultancy organisation that supports excellence in public financial management, offering a range of training, software, and advisory services to the public sector.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, CIPFA has partnered with Furthr to undertake a comprehensive examination of its GHG emissions for 2024. This will establish CIPFA's carbon emissions baseline, encompassing Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.

CIPFA started out in 1885 as the Corporate Treasurers and Accountants Institute and officially became the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy, or CIPFA for short in 1973.

Sustainability roundtable
Nine CIPFA students take part in a sustainability roundtable to discuss their views on the climate crisis and what their organisations are doing to address the climate change agenda.
2021
CIPFA becomes a voice for sustainability in finance
In 2024, CIPFA integrates sustainability further into its activities through increased participation in ESG events. Notably, the PF Live conference at Manchester and the CIPFA joint conference with Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF) in Slovenia.

Partnering with Furthr
CIPFA partners with Furthr to measure its Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions for FY24.
2025
CIPFA Net Zero
As CIPFA continues to expand they continue to prioritise sustainability and has set a goal to be Net Zero by 2050, with near term emissions reductions achieved by 2030.
