About this Project
The Problem
In Turkey, a significant portion of electricity generation has traditionally been reliant on fossil fuels, contributing to high greenhouse gas emissions. This reliance not only exacerbates global climate issues but also challenges Turkey's commitment to transitioning towards renewable energy sources, as outlined in its national energy policies.
The Solution
The Soma-Polat Wind Farm Project addresses this challenge by establishing a large-scale wind power plant with 119 Enercon wind turbines, capable of generating 372,158 MWh of electricity annually. By feeding clean energy into the national grid, the project supports Turkey's renewable energy goals and local economic development, creating jobs and providing local equipment supply.
